According to new research, Honey has turned out to be more effective than man-made cough suppressants when treating childrens' coughs.

 

A dose of buckwheat honey before bedtime easily outperformed a cough suppressant in a US study.

Honey did a better job of reducing the severity and frequency of night-time coughs. It also improved sleep quality for children and their parents.

A cancer-proof mouse, which can survive being injected with any number of cancer cells, has been discovered by US scientists. The discovery of the resistant mouse could pave the way for future gene or drug therapies if the mechanism by which it fights cancer can be understood

Researchers at the Wake Forest University School of Medicine in North Carolina have now bred a colony of 700 cancer-proof mice from the resistant male they stumbled across while doing other experiments.

Arthritis drug taken off the market

Drug regulators in Britain have ordered an arthritis drug to be withdrawn, after growing evidence that it can cause liver damage.

Prexige, made by Novartis, has been linked to 20 cases of severe liver damage worldwide since it was introduced in 2005, including two deaths and three cases where patients needed liver transplants.
